August 31st Meeting
About a dozen of us kicked off the Camp planning with an inaugural event at The Red Line. For the most part everyone tossed around their varying ideas for what kind of an event this should be. The one thing everyone ageed on, though, is that the key element is location. A few people volunteered to look into some possible spaces.
We also managed to set down some of the basic paramters. The number of people should probably be around 150 to 200. We want to do it over a weekend, probably a 36 hour span from a Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. There is still some debate about how we limit invitations (do we charge?)
The group agreed to meet the following Wednesday (September 7th), and our main agenda then would be whittling down a short list of locations.
You can get a more complete idea of what was discussed by looking at either Sparky’s Notes or Stuart’s Notes.

From David on September 1st:
I emailed John Sabey last night and here’s his exciting response:
“Sure, we have a couple of big buildings that would work for an even like this. I don’t think you would want to do it in an unused portion of a datacenter as you know they are pretty chilly, but I have some big floorplate call center space that you could use. Give me a call and we can catch up. JS”
