MC2 Example Recruiting Letter
(Name) -
I’m on the planning committee for Seattle Mind Camp, a twice-yearly meeting of the brightest and best minds in the Puget Sound area. The first Mind Camp was held November 5 and 6, 2005, and was a smashing success (if we do say so ourselves). We gathered 150 of Seattle’s smartest forward-thinkers in an empty office space for 24 hours for a self-organizing confab. Our next Camp is going to be even bigger and better, and I wanted to make sure you knew about it.
Let me assure you: this isn’t a pitch for donations. My purpose in writing is to try to broaden the range of attendees by reaching out beyond the small group of people that I already know. (You were | Name of organization was) brought to my attention by a (name) because (reason - i.e., you’re one of the leaders in your field; of your recent accomplishment; etc.). Seattle Mind Camp might be a good place for you to spread the word of your mission, or to hob nob with other influencers, to trade ideas and share knowledge.
We’ll be opening up registration later this week, so please check out our blog and wiki at http://seattlemind.com. And I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have, so feel free to get in touch.
Sincerely,
(Your name and contact info.)
P.S. Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested in attending the Camp. We hope to attract attendees from a broad range of disciplines. Anyone will be welcome, as long as they are passionate about what they do and willing to share that passion with others.
