‘‘Open, Collaborative Problem Solving’’ (organized by Justin Martenstein)

This is a generalized version of “how do I listen to my email in the shower” idea; someone has an interesting problem, we brainstorm a possible hacky solution, and then a possible commercial solution. My goal is to examine problems that might be a mix of hardware and software, and their solutions aren’t necessarily tied to a particular programming language or technology. Also, is this sustainable - could this be a recurring monthly meeting?

I’m looking for suggestions of problems to be solved, or products to be designed.

* how ‘bout : a low-cost device that acts as a mini data-display device. Think: 3-4” screen, color or b/w, with built-in wifi or bluetooth or other PAN, used in a pub/sub model to display selected data from a server, such as currently playing music, weather, sports, email. Display only, bonus points for low-power (battery operated) solutions. :) (well, you did ask…)—Noahv 16:37, 24 Apr 2006 (CDT)
