‘’‘Camp Counselors are Mind Campers who’ve volunteered to participate as extra hands to keep the event running smoothly. This page is for coordinating ideas, parameters, etc.’‘’

==Meeting==
All Camp Counselors should have received a Google Calendar invitation to a meeting on Wednesday, April 26. Email Stuart (stumaxis@gmail.com) if you need more information.

==Generally Speaking==
I don’t anticipate that this will be a major time commitment for anyone. And, everyone is free to choose how much or how little time they devote to volunteering for specific duties, like covering the registration desk.

The bare minimum commitment I would hope for is for everyone to show up a bit early (half-hour or so) for a brief meeting, and to then be available during the event (whatever hours you’re there) to be a room wrangler, supply fetcher, answer finder-outer, and so on. Of course, you’re welcome to participate beyond that minimum: volunteer for specific duties & times, come anytime to help set up and do any of the myriad little tasks that need to be done in advance, stay late to help break down & clean up… etc.

Note that I want you to be able to participate more-or-less as normal during Camp. Don’t skip a session you really want to attend or anything.

Feel free to add to and edit this page. And hang loose, guys. We’ll be making this up as we go along… —Stumax 01:24, 20 Apr 2006 (CDT)

We may need to think about coordinating a uniform of some sort - red shirts, colored badge holder….? ‘‘We’re looking into this. -sm’‘

‘‘These lists may change. Help me brainstorm.’‘

==Specific Assignable Tasks - Prior to==

* Create signage
* Test backchannel (IRC room)

==Specific Tasks - Day Of==

* Registration desk (needs to be manned from 11:15 until at least 3 pm)
* Furniture setup/breakdown at meal times (?)
* Check the bathrooms for supplies
* Check the trash cans
* Help transcribe the session board onto the wiki
* Camp Counselors
* On Sat am, familiarize yourself with room capacities & resources (i.e., which rooms have a projector, etc.) so you can recommend a room to sign up for. Also be aware of the Lightning Talks; those 5-minute presentations can take a lot of overflow & half-baked session ideas

==General Anytime Duties==

* Help w/ room setup/maintenance (quick sweep for trash, etc., at end of session)
* Help keep time - make sure sessions don’t run too far over time, so that next group can come in.
** [is this really necessary? people seemed pretty good about policing themselves last time… I don’t know if we need the Mind Camp goons moving people from place to place - jtm]
** (Good point… I hope I’ve clarified the language. I definitely don’t want us to be goons, just prompters when necessary. -sm)

==Things everyone needs to know==
* We’re inviting the residents of the Youngstown Center to join us at their leisure and/or to display their artwork. These folks may approach the registration desk. They won’t be on the list, but they’re welcome to join us for everything except meals.
* Randy Engstrom is Youngstown’s director & will be on site at all times. It’d be good to introduce him to everyone.
* Stuart will compile a list of contact info & distribute to all volunteers, including planners.
